  • Why is Quest moving to a Distributor based model?

Quest believes that by utilizing their network of Authorized Distributors they can provide you with better logistical support, financial options and services than you receive today. Quest is having great success with this model in other geographies throughout the world.

  • When is this change effective?

This change begins to happen on October 17, 2016 and will be completed by December 5, 2016.  Quest will no longer accept orders from partners directly after December5, 2016.

    +

No, you will need to place all PO’s and register opportunities via Arrow.

  • Will I need to sign a new Quest Agreement once I have selected Arrow and begin placing PO’s with them?

    +

No, you simply need to go to the link on the Partner portal as administrator and make your selection. We do ask that you adhere to marketing and reselling our products in accordance with Partner Program guidelines. This will allow for us to set expectations on how our products will be marketed and represented.

  • Why did Quest ask me to sign new terms and conditions on November 1, 2016 as a direct reseller?

    +

Until you have selected Arrow as your distributor and signed any documents required by Quest, you will need to buy from Quest.  As of November  1 , Quest is a new company and your old Dell Software agreement is no longer valid. You will need an interim agreement in order to be able to give Quest your PO.

  • Will my pricing change or go up with Arrow?

    +

Quest is structuring the distributor pricing model to allow for a competitive resale price to you. Therefore the purchase price via Arrow should not be negatively impacted.

  • Will I receive Quest training and marketing support?

    +

Yes, you will continue receive marketing support and training as requested from both Quest and Arrow with your status in the Partner Program.

  • What happens to any Deal registrations that I have currently?

Once the transition period concludes, the registrations will flow through the Arrow.

    +

You may choose to assign new registrations to Arrow.

  • What is the policy or sequence with PO/quotes when the transition period ends on December 5, 2016?

    +

All PO’s placed on our books by December 12, 2016 will be honored by Quest.  All new PO’s on or after December 5, 2016 must be placed with Arrow.  All quotes in the Quest system executed by December 2, 2016 will be honored for 30 days and PO’s accepted by Quest.  All quotes in the Quest system executed by December 2, 2016 but NOT Shipped by December 1, 2016 will be converted and re-quoted via Arrow.

  • If I wish to place a PO with Arrow before the transition period ends is that allowed?

    +

Yes, you may begin at any time from this point forward.

  • Must I buy from Arrow once the transition period is complete?

    +

Yes, once selected Arrow all future purchases must flow through Arrow. This is known in the industry as a “closed” model and is widely used by suppliers such as ourselves.

  • Can I change distributors after the transition period is complete?

    +

Once Arrow is selected, our expectation is that you will remain with Arrow through the contract terms you negotiate.  Our preference is that partners enter multi-year agreements with Arrow, as that ensures the greatest opportunity for long term growth and investment in your success.  Quest expects partners to retain their distributor relationship without change, unless confronted with compelling reasons such as quality of service or consistent underperformance against contract terms.

  • Will I still have access to the Quest partner portal?

    +

Absolutely, you will continue to have complete access to the partner portal and all of its myriad resources at the same level you did prior to this notice.

  • How do I get a credit line with Arrow?

    +

That will be up to you and Arrow. If you are having trouble getting to the correct person within Arrow we will attempt to assist in finding a contact for you. This process is generally straight forward.

  • Why can’t I buy direct anymore?

    +

Quest is pursuing a fast growth strategy with the North American Channel, and we expect to increase the volume of channel purchasing over the coming years.   Quest believe moving all purchases to distribution will create more value for our partners, increase the level of sales support, and improve available lines of credit as we grow our business.

  • Will I be able to track deal registrations through Arrow?

    +

Yes, you will still have the same visibility to pipeline and Deal Registration as you have in the past.

  • Who are my sales and technical contacts at Arrow and who can answer my technical questions?

    +

    Please contact: quest@arrow.com

  • Who do I speak with about renewals?

    +

Contact Arrow or Quest Channels Account Manager, they will be able to support your renewal sales.

  • Is this a global strategy/change or just North America?

    +

While this specific change is for North America only, the other geographies around the world are moving in a similar direction to leverage distributor partners where the market conditions make sense or allow.

  • What about SonicWall, and Information/Access Management? Are those products affected by this change of policy?

    +

No, they will remain and operate as separate organizations so they are not part of this change. Continue to buy those products the way you do today.
